Student Journal: Cold War, United States

United States 2 Orientation Day: 

Initial Thoughts: A full on nuclear war would mean the death and destruction of both sides of the war. There would be no winner and everyone would be dead, it would be a catastrophe. I want to avoid escalation as much as possible. I will only escalate if they make an aggressive move against NATO. I fear that this war could end in disaster. My objectives are to not let them gain any territory. I will defend West Germany because I feel they will attack them first. 

Strategy: I am going to stay at defcon 5 and avoid any battles unless provoked by the enemy. I am going to defend any territory that does not already belong to them. I will avoid escalating this war and only react to what they are doing. I don’t want to fall behind while they escalate and attack us. However, I don’t want to be the one increasing the intensity of our defcon levels. This could lead to a nuclear strike from both sides. I am going to work with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to ensure that the Warsaw Pact doesn’t gain any more power or territory. 

United States 2 Day 1:

Thoughts: The USSR is moving tanks towards West Germany. I fear that an attack on West Germany is imminent. This is what I predicted because that is where the dividing line is between the Warsaw Pact and NATO. I need to prevent them from gaining territory that they don’t possess. The goal of NATO is to prevent the spread of communism, this means not letting them gain territory. We need to take action to prevent their attack on West Germany. 

Strategy: I am sending tanks into West Germany to help defend against the Warsaw Pact. Canada is joining me in placing artillery in that area, I believe this will help deter the enemy from attacking. My hope is that we do not have to take further action against the USSR. However, we will do so if that is necessary for the greater good. If escalation does take place, that could lead to a nuclear war that will change the whole world. We will remain peaceful to prevent the escalation of war. 

United States 2 Day 2:

Thoughts: The Warsaw Pact used their tactical nuclear weapons to take out all of our armour in West Germany. They have also sent forces into West Germany to take control of that territory. Both sides are increasing the intensities of their defcon levels very quickly. This war is escalating at a very terrifying pace. I am trying to slow down the aggressive movements of the Warsaw Pact by trying to stay defensive. They are escalating very quickly and this is forcing us to escalate… We have imputed our nuclear launch codes in order to launch our nuclear warheads at the enemy. The opposing forces will send their nuclear weapons at us within a matter of minutes. It is a truly sad day for the world. It will take years for humanity to recover from this day… Strategy: We are using our tactical nuclear weapons against their tanks in the countries that can be reached from Italy. We are only doing this in response to their attacks on our tanks in West Germany. We are going to continue to increase our defcon so that we’re prepared for war. The Warsaw Pact is gaining control of most of the European countries, our ground forces are no match for theirs. They continue to use their tactical nuclear weapons against us and we are suffering numerous casualties. There is only one thing we can do in order to stop the spread of communism throughout the entire globe. We are going to activate our nuclear missiles and launch them at the enemy. A full on nuclear strike is going to happen, humanity will suffer massive casualties…

Student Journal: Cold War Simulation, France

France 2 Orientation Day

Initial Thoughts: The thought of a full out nuclear war just brings goosebumps to me. If the world and countries ever got into a full out nuclear war, the whole country could and would be destroyed. Having nukes is just like militarism and having a big army. Every country is going to want nukes and they want to show that they have the better nukes. When one country does something, the opposite side of the war would also want to do something. This would be how it is with nukes. One country fires at another country and they want to show off their nukes so they fire back. This would lead to a full out nuclear war and destruction to many and almost all of other countries. 

Strategy: I needed to keep peace with everyone because France couldn’t take another war. They had just been in two wars and they couldn’t lose anymore troops or land. Thankfully they had the United States in the simulation because the United States always helps win the war. My initial strategy was to not try and get into war. I didn’t want to lose any troops and didn’t want to give up land around me because then I would end up getting hit with a tactical nuke. I also needed to keep France because if I had lost that, the Warsaw Pact would have gotten France’s nuke which would have affected NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). 

France 2 Day 1

Thoughts: You wouldn’t think on the first day of war, there would be any attacks on other countries. But I mean, you never know with Joseph Stalin on the other side. Even if Stalin would think about going to war, he was theoretically surrounded by NATO. He may have had more troops, but we both had nuclear missiles. If we were to ever feel the discomfort that we were going to lose the war, we could just launch our missiles at the enemies. Never would I have thought to say this, but I honestly hope we don’t get into war and have the idea of nuclear missiles on our mind. Stalin doesn’t know what a full out nuclear war would do, and that is what scares me. 

Strategy: As France, NATO had been surrounding us. With us being part of NATO but also “independent,” we were in no need to be prepared to get attacked. We didn’t need to withstand any attacks, but we were able to take back what used to be part of NATO as well as East Germany. Taking back Berlin had been a huge part in this war because we were able to take back our people that the USSR had split in half. We needed as many nukes as we possibly could, and maybe even try and take the USSR. If we were able to do that, the Warsaw Pact would have no nukes and they would be destroyed. 

France 2 Day 2

Thoughts: There had been multiple attacks on both Eastern and Western Germany of who had control on it. All of these attacks had included nuclear warfare which wiped out the whole army of the opposite side. The only bad thing about this nuclear war is that if you ever had an all out attack, you would eventually lose all of your troops because everyone theoretically had nuclear nukes. But then if you ever tried to escalate the war too much, there would be a nuclear missile launch. If you fired at someone, they had the missiles that they would fire theirs right back at you. The whole world would be destroyed with the click of a button. 

Strategy: With the fact that the war between Eastern and Western Germany, there had been a clear path to what we had to do. If we kept wasting our troops, we were going to get taken over by the Warsaw Pact and lose nukes that would “help” NATO. Everyone saw what the nuclear missiles would do to the war but it was the only thing that we could do if we were the target of the enemy’s nukes. We saw that if we didn’t launch our nuclear missiles, the armies of the Warsaw Pact would take back Turkey and the nukes that NATO had acquired in the borders of Turkey. So we pressed the button and the whole world was gone. Forever.

Student Journal: Cold War Simulation, Great Britain

Great Britain 2 Orientation Day,

Initial Thoughts: Initially I thought that this war would be a very scary and devastating one if it got to the point of DEFCON 1. DEFCON 1 was the point when an all out nuclear strike would occur, most likely from both sides. I can sense that there will definitely be a lot of escalation, and each side will probably do the same thing that the other side does. There will be a lot of back and forth for sure. It looks like the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact is going to be the stronger side in this situation, so that will probably not end well for the side of NATO. This makes me nervous because we have no idea what the Warsaw Pact is going to do. 

Strategy: The plan for now is to stick with NATO and honor that alliance. If I stick with them, we may be stronger than the Soviet Union but I’m not sure. I am also going to stay close with the United States, since they are very strong and have a lot more tanks than I do. I’m not sure if I want to be offensive in this war, because I don’t think that nuclear war is that way to do things. However, when escalation happens I know that NATO will have to fight back unless we want territory taken from us. 

Great Britain 2 Day 1,

Thoughts: This was a very short day (10 minutes) so not a lot happened. The Soviet Union gave a confusing speech, but the core of the speech was that they were cutting off supply in Berlin. So our people in Berlin were hopeless, they couldn’t get any supplies and would die out soon. Also, both sides initiated “Launch on Warning” which meant that whoever sent the missiles first would have some sent right back to them immediately. We turned this on because if the Warsaw Pact sent anything our way, they needed to pay and have our missiles launched to them. That way none of the Warsaw missiles would hit ours. Basically we wanted to be able to send everything we had if it got to that point. I still hope that none of us reach DEFCON 1, however it could very easily happen. 

Strategy: Our strategy this day was simple and short. All we did was turn on our “Launch on Warning” and told the Soviet Union we wanted to keep peace. The US and Canada sent troops to West Germany. This could end badly tho, because this would make West Germany a bigger target. My strategy is still the same: I’m going to sit still until NATO needs me, or until I have to be brought into the war. This is because I don’t want my country to suffer if it’s not even needed. Nuclear weapons are TERRIBLE and they cause terrible destruction anywhere they go. So yes, of course I want to prevent putting my country in the risk of being devastated by such missiles. 

Great Britain 2 Day 2,

Thoughts: This day was a little bit confusing and devastating all in one. Escalation increased dramatically when both sides increased their DEFCON every single turn. The Soviet Union was putting us in a trap of back and forth warfare, NATO could see that they would not be able to win in the end because the Warsaw Pact was too strong. The position they put us in forced us to go to DEFCON 1 and nuke the whole country. Since “Launch on Warning” was on for the Warsaw Pact, we knew that this would devastate our countries as well. Either way we knew that our side would suffer, so we made sure the other side suffered as well. This may not have been the right way to handle things

Strategy: Our strategy was to protect our countries in NATO. If that meant that we needed to increase the DEFCON, then that’s what we did. Our alliances stuck together through the end. Even though we initiated the complete destruction of the countries in the Warsaw pact, we did it because there was nothing else we could do. They did not want to make peace and they were not going to stop taking our territories and our large missiles. The Soviet Union started this conflict, and regretfully we had to end it.

WWI Simulation Student Journal: France & Montenegro

France 1913

After the Fraco-Prussian war Germany has been making major advancements in Europe. Not only have they taken our province of Alsace and Lorraine, they have also made great economic strides. I can’t let Germany become too powerful. I don’t know what their intentions are and I am weary of what their next move will be. I plan to mobilize my army in 1914 to help combat this uneasy feeling. As they get closer to my capital I also plan to deploy more troops into F1. As for Belgium being in the facility as well adding troops into this zone can help keep to honor their neutrality. I hope my allies help to depend on me as I will for them. I also want to ally with Montenegro in the future.

Montenegro 1913

Yay! Through our grit and hard work we came out successful in the Balkans war. Allowing us to finally become a kingdom. We have gained a mass amount of territory from Serbia and Albania, however with this location we are very isolated in Europe. With our allies being a sea away we need their help as much as possible. With the central powers being a short jaunt away, we can easily be overrun. I must in the future make treaties with my allies to depend on me. My first order of business is to make an alliance with France. However without any Navy I’ll have a hard time getting there. Maybe I should ally with Italy because of their close proximity and access to a navy. 

France 1914

After hearing word from Belgium I have agreed to help defend them against Germany. They have agreed to help me out in return but I must honor their neutrality. I have decided to mobilize after Serbia, my ally, assassinated Austria Hungary, Archduke Franz zferdinand. I fear that the central powers will take it out on the allied powers. Being that the Central powers are so close to me and Germany already has me on edge I feel this is the best move to keep my country at ease. Central powers have already taken it out on Russia, I fear that I will be next. The Central powers have defeated our allied navy in the Baltic sea, proving that they are a strong force to be reckoned with. I also want to move 1500 troops into f1 to help defend against the central movement to G2.

Montenegro 1914

Serbia has made an uprising not apologizing for their assisnation. The central powers have made it clear that they are unhappy with this and have banded together against the allied powers. They have made movement closer to us. I Fear the central powers will take over much more powerful Serbia. Although My beloved country needs us, the best thing for the allies would be to save Serbia and their impressive army. I feared this day would come. The scent of gunpowder is approaching. The sound of footsteps are baring near. There is light at the end of the tunnel, Romania has joined us in defending Serbia. We have come out victorious!

France 1915

Getting word that Italy has joined the allied powers, this will be very beneficial in protecting our land. After seeing what the central powers have done to our navy in the baltic sea, I’m not going to take any chances. I will move my navy to the medittarean with hopes that It will be protected. I have also decided to help defend the north Sea after our allied victory. The central powers have stormed into belgium. I must help protect them, I will move 2282 troops into Belgium to help defend against the central powers. As well as moving my navy to the north sea to transport British troops to belgium. This will help defend my f1, in order to keep my capital. The central powers have also decided to attack italy. In order, to defend their land I will send 700 of my troops over to help. 

Montenegro 1915

Our allies at sea have been very active. We took a huge blow after our battle against the central powers. Losing almost half our troops has hurt us greatly. I must lay low to help recover against our major loss. Luckily, Italy has joined the allied powers. This will make it much easier for transportation with their navy in close proximity. They also can help defend us against the central powers aggressive approach in the event we were to be invaded. Bulgaria has allied with the central powers. This heat behind is very unnerving. 

France 1916

It’s a call for war, I want my land back and Italy is ready to bring the heat. In order to distract the German troops out of A1 we are going to battle in Austria Hungary’s A2. Although we may have lost its time to move on. I want to help defend italy but I also need to protect myself. I will move some troops to protect my country as well as some into f2 to provide my country with enough protection for any german aggression that may come. 

Montenegro 1916

My neighbors have decided to go to war in A3, I can hear the roar of the weapons. After the smoke has cleared, so many have been lost. It’s not looking good in the south. My people are starting to fear. The central powers are just too strong, we can’t win a battle with their numbers and their power. I have lost all hope they have moved into Serbia, we don’t have any hope. They are just too strong. The poison gas is filling our lungs. We are just too small. We are done for. Our wives, our children, I fear for what the central powers have in store for our people. 

France 1917

We have heard word that the United states has joined the allies, there is hope. With my excessive amount of troops in Belgium I will help Britain take G1 or at least weaken their troops. Well shoot, we have lost troops, I hope that poking the bear will not give them motivation to take belgium. Italy has asked for help in taking A2 although this may have the first time we have more troops. We can spare 500 troops with hopes to take our rightful land back. Once again we have fallen, there are just too many and just too strong. However their numbers are falling, and with the help of the United States we have hope. Britain has declared war in G1, another lost however they don’t know what we have in store. We have decided to go for G1 putting multiple troops into Belgium. Hopefully the third time’s the charm. Once again. But we have good News. We have taken back our land! Our precious Alsace and Lorraine it is back to their rightful owners. We are moving our navy to the Atlantic sea. This will provide transportation for British troops into Germany’s capital. This will be an essential move for Germany as they are the strongest link in the central powers. 

Montenegro 1917

Although they haven’t taken our land yet I fear the worst is upon us. I hope they believe we have mobization but the truth is we don’t have any. The only thing I have left is my allies to defend me. Now that navies have moved into the meditarrean I’m fearing their distance. We have lost one of our closest allies. Romania is gone, all I have now Is Greece and Italy. They are attacking Greece. We can’t move anything, Greece is all on their own. I left all alone. We are done. They haven’t attacked us yet. I can’t imagine the fear my people have. 

France 1918

Our soldiers are exhausted. This fight has gone on for too long. We can only hope that the war is drawing to a close with us on top. We are looking good but you never know what the central powers have up their sleeve. How dare they take back our rightful ground. That was ours for the taking. The cursed central powers ruined all of our hard work. The great travel through the forest was all for nothing. We gave it our all, we are very thankful for the United States army however it just wasn’t enough to defend them. We need Belgium, we’ll do everything we can to protect them. We have lost so many troops, we did everything we could but the central power had the numbers. With all of our efforts, we came in defeat.

Montenegro 1918

We are still alive but I fear not for long. We can only hope that the war is coming to the end. We have seen enough bloodshed, our poor citizens having been fearing for their lives for way too long. We have no troops, nothing to help defend, all the navy’s have left us. We’ll just lie low until our inevitable fate is to come. I can hear their troops moving, I don’t know what they are planning but I fear for our allies in the north. I feel a fight drawing near in the distance, we can only hope that the allies will win. It was a major victory, I now have Italy near to help defend me. We have Survived! The war is over! Even with having no troops we have survived. Our people couldn’t be more relieved.

WWI: France Journal Period 2

France 12 1914
It is very quiet on the East side of France. The war on the Eastern front, is at a standstill with no troop movement and no war. We are getting in place to defend any attack German might throw at us from the East. Maybe Germany will suffer casualties moving through the Ardennes forest, so we will have the number advantage on them if we go into battle with them. Overall a very quiet year for the French nation and we have not suffered casualties and losing troops.

France 12 1915
The day we knew was coming finally happened the Germans came through neutral Belgium with 3,000 troops. We moved an extra 180 troops in to help defend against the powerful German army. With our numbers at 4,962 and the Germans at 3,000. We used poison gas which had a low effect on the highly developed German army. We got the victory and suffered a lot of casualties in the process. We are down to 12 troops on the Eastern Front. We need a momentum swing to put the Germans on their heels. We need the reserves to help us out, and we need a lot of them to defend our country. THe British are honoring their alliance with us by sending troops in for defensive efforts until we can get our troop numbers back up to healthy numbers.

France 12 1916
We got more French soldiers to help protect our territory, and we furthermore got British and Portugal to send troops to help play defense. We are thinking about an all out attack on Germany from the top and bottom, but we can only send 1,000 troops at a time through the Ardennes forest. The Russians western front was captured in a close battle, but they took over part of the Ottoman Empire, and have enough troops to take back their western front from Germany and Austria-Hungary. The objectives of France are coming together nicely, if we can take over the G2 from Germany, this will be a long war and a difficult chess match, and we need to come up with a better strategy.

France 12 1917
America has joined our side of the war, which is a blessing, they have very strong troops and a lot of them. We moved 500 American troops into the the Eastern front of France with the hope that we can take the Western edge of a powerful German army. We made an alliance with America today, and they said they would help invade Germany with their more powerful army. We sent 500 American troops and 500 French troops into the Ardennes forest with the hope that we can over power Germany. But the forest limited us again, we could not send enough troops into Germany to conquer the Western front. With the war settling down for the day we are planning out strategies to make Germany surrender and lose this war. We will need to bring as many American soldiers into France and Great Britain as we can so we can take over the powerful Germany army and win this War!!!!

France 12 1918
We had the chance to use the more powerful American army, but failed when we lacked the naval transportation needed to get them to the war zones in Europe. We sent troops along with Britain down to Italy to help them regain their lost territory. Our allies Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria all perished in the war, and we couldn’t even help defend them during the battles. Our Russian allies were totally wiped out and lost control of their government, which in turn they lost their country, in a vicious last second battle. The war ended before we could recapture territory from the ruthless Germans but if the worst thing that comes out of this war is a little bit of land not regained we are the lucky ones. At the end of the war Germany tried an all out last ditch effort attack to wipe out France and try to capture all of Europe after that, but lucky they did not send enough troops thinking that they could better us with the lower amount, but with help from our allies we were victorious and did not give an inch to the Germans. We know of what we could have done better in the war and realized our mistakes, but we are still a country and Germany is at bay…… for now.

Cold War Simulation

United States 2 Prep. Day

We have been informed of the situations that are going on in the world at this time. Whatever way we fight this war, it is not going to end well. This war is going to be mainly fought with words. We have to keep the communists at bay. This will be difficult because of their superior tanks. Being the Unites States, this will take a lot of negotiating and talking out. It is mainly between the US and the USSR. Our objectives are to keep nuclear weapons out of the West. We also need to protect all of our allies. Our last objective is to keep communism from spreading throughout Europe. These tasks will not be easy, especially if we must retain from starting an all out nuclear war. If they are to attack with their tanks, we do not stand a chance unless we use tactical nukes against them, which is highly controversial. Getting them to not attack Germany would be our best hope, but that is highly unlikely. 

United States 2 Day 1  

Todayhas been an eventful day. Hungary and Romania have started out with the invasion of Yugoslavia. USSR has also moved massive amounts of tanks into Romania. We had to take action when they attacked Turkey with 1000 tanks. We sent in tactical nukes to destroy the opposing tanks. We needed to protect our allies. We also moved into defcon 3 so that our submarines were in the water and at the ready. I have received information of the state at which Cuba is in with their nuclear weapons, and worked with Great Britain to get Cuba under our control. If nuclear weapons were to be sent from there, it would reach the United States in under 5 minutes. We are in a state of attack on warning, if they are to send anything our way, we will fire back with everything we have. Talk of them sending their nukes is spreading. There is no good way to approach a war like this. They have also moved into defcon 1, whatever is going to happen, it will not be pretty. 

United States 2 Day 2 

Again today the USSR has gotten greedy. They again tried to send in troops to Turkey. We had to defend our allies, so we sent in tactical nukes against their tanks and destroyed the invasion. Towards the end talk was stirring about if we gave them West Germany they wouldn’t do an all out launch of nuclear weapons. We moved the majority of tanks out of West Germany but they did not invade. Instead they went for Norway with the US tanks in Norway we stood our ground but did not win due to the overwhelming forces of tanks that the USSR has. We were already on attack on warning, so if they tried to do anything, we would be ready to attack them back. We tried to stall and do what we could to save as many lives as we could but in the end they just sent everything they had at us. We tried to take the lesser of two evils and let them take West Germany with little resistance, but it wasn’t enough for them. They wanted all of Europe and we weren’t going to let them have it. In the end, everyone is the loser. Nothing is going to be the same after this. It would be better to have not fought this war and came out with no casualties, now all of Europe and the US is covered with destruction.

World War 2 Simulation Student Journal: China & Finland

World War 2 Simulation

Finland & China 2 1938

China: Today I learned that I need resources very bad, I need to get my resources higher. I need to make alliances, I haven’t decided who I should work with yet. I want to start alliances before I try and regain my territory from Japan. I want to try working with the United States for sure, they have multiple resources, they can send them to me and that would be helpful. If I regain my territory from Japan then I can get some of my resources back. I will need some hep from other places getting all that I need. I can hopefully talk to Thailand and they will work with me and give me some of their resources. 

Finland: Today I learned that I really don’t need that many resources. I only need one of each natural resource. This will be helpful when trying to get them from people, I won’t be asking too much from anyone. I can hopefully work with people to help keep me safe. As of right now, I want to stay neutral, I don’t want to make anyone mad or form any alliances with people. I don’t want to make anyone mad and start a war in my country or around. If anything happens that could affect me or alliances that I am in I will think about stepping in and helping the best that I can.

Finland & China 2, 1939

China: I have no idea what to do. I have a bad army, I need natural resources to help increase my army. I don’t know how to save China from being attacked. I am losing my territory, my only hope is to get resources and hope that can make my army better. I need to get the United States to help me, I need their resources and I need their help with their military, I am useless with no help. I talked to them today about them helping me and teaming up with me, I did not get anywhere with that. It is hard to need help and I don’t get it. France and Great Britain tried to help me out, but that did not go over very well, they were unable to help me keep my territory. Going into tomorrow my strategy is to get the United States on my side. I need to try and keep Japan from attacking me, I don’t know how to do that yet.

Finland: I almost let Europe use my land, good thing I did not let them. I made an alliance with Germany today, hopefully that will help me out. Finland has a really strong army, once I get my resources that will make my army one that no one wants to mess with. That will be incredibly helpful. I don’t want to make any alliances at this point in the war yet, I want to stay isolated. I made an alliance with Germany, however I have no intention of doing anything with them. I am going to sit back and watch the war until I am not able to sit back and watch it anymore. I think keeping myself out of the war will keep my country safe. 

Finland & China 2, 1940

China: I got attacked and lost all of my land. I have nothing else to do, I have nothing else to do. I am rooting for the allied. I hope that Japan gets the crap kicked out of them. The United States was finally able to help, but it was too late. I got a little bit of help in China, but not enough to save me. I didn’t want to send too many troops because I would lose all of my land for sure.  I wish I would of had more people to work with and be able to save some parts of China.

Finland: I was attacked by Russia and lost my land. I was able to kill 500 people, leaving me with 90, however after the first blow I was not able to save myself. No one was able to help me, I was alone. Russia said I should of let them move troops to my land, but I couldn’t. My army had a higher rating than Russia, but Russia had a lot more troops than I did. I really couldn’t do much, I couldn’t get anyone to send troops to me so that kind of back fired and made it so that I didn’t have anyone to help me out. 

Finland & China 2, 1941

Journal – Today the allies lost, they had way more troops than anyone else and still lost, kind of disappointing. Germany is proving to be unstoppable, they will continue to beat everyone until someone has an army at least twice their size, maybe neutrals and allies should all team up to start taking over land from Germany. Honestly if anything as long as someone can take and one part of Germany it would show that they are a force to be reckoned with. The Axis powers are unstoppable as a whole, they haven’t lost a war since. The Allied Powers are not doing so great, they are losing land and they are 

Finland & China 2, 1942

Journal – Today the Soviets joined the allied powers, that could be a smart move. Maybe they can help take over part of Germany. They are still unstoppable. If the Soviets are able to take parts of Germany and Japan’s land that could help them slow down. I think that the USSR should have joined the allied powers a lot sooner, they they could have worked with China and I could still have my land. My thoughts right now are that the Axis powers are going to destroy everyone in their path. Hopefully that changes, if Great Britain keeps helping out then maybe they can do something.

Journal – Today France was defeated. I wish that someone was able to help France, they are one of the last ones that are able to do anything. Italy tried to join France, but that did nothing for anyone. Germany has a very powerful army, so far no one has been able to go against him. France has a possibility of getting their country back and bringing power back. The United States needs to help an allied country, that is about the only way to defeat Germany. If I was the United States I would be sending my troops to France and possibly Great Britain so that we can all team up. After teaming up and having a plan I would do a surprise attack on Germany, starting in 1 part and attacking the rest of the country after that. This will be the only way, that I see, having them be defeated. 

Finland & China 2, 1944

Journal – Today France had a great comeback. France, Great Britain, and the United States were finally able to team up and defeat Germany.  Germany lost their main front, this made the almost useless. For Germany as long as they had their main front no one could get past them. When they lost this it took a toll on their army as a whole. This was the perfect opportunity for the U.S., G. B., and France to really team up and start taking land back. This made it so that Germany was losing all the power they thought they had. France, Great Britain, and the United States need to continue to work together, if they do they might be able to conquer the rest of the land and free the people of German rule. This was the comeback the world needed to see, I think everyone started to feel defeat and didn’t know what to do anymore. I am really proud of the three countries that were able to take back land. I wish that I would have had more alliances so that I could have been more help. If I could redo it I would try and make sure that both China and Finland were able to make alliances and get the sources they need to be successful.

Cold War Lesson Plan

France 2 Pre-War

The world has gotten to a point where all countries are ready for any war that may happen. This can be a good thing, but it is also a very bad thing. The use of nuclear bombs could destroy the whole world and leave nothing left. As a major country that has nuclear missiles, I want to be here as a threat but not use my missiles unless it becomes absolutely necessary. The rest of NATO want to initiate “Strike on Warning” but I am still unsure of that idea. It is hard to have so many countries on one side all having different ideas on whether to launch the missiles or not. At this point I, as France, do not want to launch them. 

France 2 Day 1

War is drawing closer and closer as each sides armies prepare for bigger things. NATO has already had to use tactical nuclear weapons to help defend places where our silos are. Other than that, both sides have not done a lot basically waiting for the other to attack. Luckily, we have a way into their heads. We have a spy on the other side. They are telling us all about what the Warsaw are wanting to do before they do it. This is how we knew that they were going to try to attack Turkey and we were able to get our tactical bombs prepared and ready. Continuing to show our strength will hopefully make them think before they send all of their nuclear weapons our way. 

France 2 Day 2

They kept sending messages to leave West Germany, but we did not want to. After this, I knew that our final fate would happen. It is their choice anyway. They knew that we had “Launch on Warning” initiated, but they still decided to send their nuclear weapons. This created the final destruction of the entire world. I wished that this day would never come. Unfortunately it still happened even though France as a country, and NATO tried to do everything to stop it. There were warning, and they knew that if they attacked, their entire population would be gone too. They still did it, and now the whole world is done for. There are few people even left alive, and if you are alive, you are extremely sick from the radiation.

WW3 Lesson Plan

East Germany Orientation Day:

Today we are discussing our plans with our allies. These are very important discussions and strategies being talked about that will affect the rest of this war. We must be very careful on what we decide because of the power some of these countries have ready to fire.  One single move can setoff an entire nuclear war that has the power to eventually end the whole human race. 

East Germany Day 1:

Today is the first day in the Cold War. We are communicating with our allies to talk about what plans we have, and what plans they have. We must think wisely as any move could change the world forever. The first move we have decided to make as a group is to invade Yugoslavia… It was a success! It is always great to get started on the right track with a victory. That is all of the moves that will be made for right now because we must be patient in this war. We are currently still in DEFCON 5 which is a little surprising. This just in, the Soviet Union is attacking Turkey, but with an armored division and not bombs. I think this is a wise decision because they can take them over without causing a nuclear war. I am a little concerned that they will use nuclear weapons to defend and that might trigger something big.. This just in… They have moved to DEFCON 3 and are using nuclear weapons to defend! This is huge, I knew this would happen. ALL of the Soviet Union’s troops were DESTROYED. They have just got themselves into a nuclear war my friends. NATO forces have iniated launch on warning. This makes me upset because I feel we should’ve done something before they ignited that. Now if we attack with nukes, they will attack back right away. 

THIS JUST IN.. we are now in DECON 1. This is huge and alerting news. 

East Germany Day 2: 

Tensions are extremely high right now. We are in DEFCON 1. The enemies are currently in launch on warning. I think it would be a smart move to put ourselves in launch on warning too. This just in, we have just turned on launch on warning. I think this is a very smart move for the Warsaw Pact. NATO has just moved to DEFCON 2. NATO has not made a move yet, they seem to be stalling. We are very nervous over here because we do not know if nuclear weapons will be used or not. Let’s hope for the best… We tried to invade Turkey and THEY used nuclear weapons!! That has officially p***** us off. We are going to an all out nuclear warfare. We have launched all of nukes… They have launched their nukes back! This is the end.. I love my country..

Cold War Simulation

Italy 1 Orientation day 

It’s to early to know what anyone will do but knowing the Soviet Union, I think they’ll go “crazy”. I believe that the leader of the Soviet Union will get power happy and lead the Warsaw Pact into defeat. I think this because the Soviet Union decides what happens and when it happens, for the Warsaw Pact as a whole, and I think they will just throw bomb after bombs. 

As Italy, we don’t have much to rely on but The NATO as a whole. We need to come together and work as a whole to make sure all of our countries stay alive and defend off the Warsaw Pact. We don’t have much to use to defend our country,  but I believe if we help out our fellow countries and provide the help then they will repay the favor. 

Italy 1 Day 2 (First Day of War)

Once again the Soviets are coming hard by attacking right away and taking over big countries for the NATO’s. The Soviets have attacked Turkey and taken over the whole country which is a big loss to us. As of right now, we know that the Warsaw Pact is pushing towards us hard and moving all their troops closer and closer to us. We’ve decided that we needed to prepare and so we moved our troops closer to them. 

Everything is turning out rough for us as of right now because the Soviets have already started launching bombs. So far, they’ve taken out all our troops that were in West Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. It was a major loss of troops but we’re not giving up yet. We’ve countered with an attack of our own and we bombed them in West Germany and took out a heavy amount of Soviets. 

Italy 1 Day 3

We’re assuming that the Soviets are going to launch a nuclear attack on us and we’re ready to fire back. We decided to get ‘launch on command’ ready in the case that the Soviets do launch nuclear missiles. If they go through, then a big portion of the world could be at stake and everything could be demolished and wiped out. 

We were right, the Soviets are launching nuclear missiles at us and we don’t have much time to react. We’ve launched ours as soon as we found out that they launched theirs and now the whole world is in trouble. These nuclear missiles will wipe everything out and cause mass destruction to everyone and everything. Seek shelter and try to hide away from the nuclear backlash because we’ve officially gone into nuclear war!
